Craftgifts.ie Returns, Cancellations and Exchanges

1. Your Right to Cancel

We hope you are delighted with your purchase. However, when you purchase eligible goods online, you generally have the right to change your mind and cancel your order.

For most eligible goods purchased through Craftgifts.ie, you have 14 days from the date you receive the goods to tell us or the seller that you wish to cancel.

You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

This statutory cancellation right does not apply to certain excluded goods, including some personalised, made-to-order, perishable and hygiene-sensitive products.

2. How to Request a Return

To request a cancellation or return:

  1. Log in to the Craftgifts.ie account used to place the order.
  2. Open Account > Orders.
  3. Select the relevant order.
  4. Choose Request a replacement or a refund, where available.
  5. Complete the return request and follow the return instructions provided.

You may also contact Craftgifts.ie through our Contact Us form if you need assistance.

Please do not return goods until you have received the appropriate return instructions.

Unless otherwise stated, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning goods where the return arises solely from a change of mind.

3. Condition of Returned Goods

You may inspect goods in the same way that you reasonably could in a physical shop.

Where goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, the seller may be entitled to make an appropriate deduction for any reduction in value.

Returned goods should therefore be kept in good condition and, where reasonably possible, returned with their original packaging and accessories.

4. Refunds Following Cancellation

Where you validly exercise your statutory right to cancel, you will be refunded the payments due to you, including the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered at the time of purchase.

Additional delivery charges arising from your choice of a more expensive delivery method are not required to be refunded.

A refund will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction.

Where goods are being returned, reimbursement may be withheld until the goods have been received back or evidence of their return has been provided, whichever occurs first.

5. Goods Excluded from the Change-of-Mind Cancellation Right

The statutory cooling-off right may not apply to certain products, including:

  • Goods made to your individual specifications.
  • Clearly personalised products, such as certain engraved or monogrammed items.
  • Goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, including certain food products and flowers.
  • Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal has been broken.
  • Sealed audio, video or computer software where the seal has been broken.
  • Certain newspapers, periodicals and magazines.
  • Other goods excluded from the statutory cancellation right by law.

Important

These exclusions relate to change-of-mind cancellations. They do not remove your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

6. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Goods

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery and contact Craftgifts.ie promptly if an item arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or materially different from its description.

Where goods do not conform to the contract, your statutory rights under Irish consumer law apply.

Your statutory rights are separate from the 14-day cancellation right

These rights are not lost merely because an issue was not reported within 24 hours.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, remedies may include:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Price reduction
  • Refund

Where goods are faulty or damaged through no fault of the customer, the customer will not be required to bear costs that the law places on the trader.

7. Exchanges

Exchanges for non-faulty goods are available at the individual seller's discretion unless otherwise stated.

Where an exchange is agreed because the customer has simply changed their mind, the customer may be responsible for:

  • The cost of returning the original item.
  • The cost of delivering the replacement item.

This does not affect statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged, incorrect or non-conforming goods.
