At Wild Atlantic Timbercraft, we craft more than furniture and lighting — we craft stories, rooted in nature and shaped by time. Based in Ballyheigue, County Kerry, along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, our work reflects the rugged coastline that inspires us. Each piece is made by hand from three distinct materials: Bog Oak, recycled timber, and driftwood.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We source our materials locally, giving new life to driftwood and reclaimed timber that might otherwise be discarded. Every mark and grain tells a story, ensuring that no two creations are ever the same. What truly sets our work apart, however, is our use of Bog Oak. This rare and ancient wood, preserved in Irish bogs for thousands of years, carries history within its dark grain. By shaping it into functional art, we’re not only celebrating its natural beauty but also preserving a fragment of Ireland’s past.
Our pieces — from rustic benches and dining tables to sculptural lamps and timepieces — are designed to bring warmth, character, and authenticity into any space. Each creation is meticulously handmade by skilled artisans, blending durability with artistry, and carrying the spirit of the Atlantic landscape into homes around the world.
Though our workshop is firmly rooted in Kerry, our work has found homes as far away as London, New York, Cape Town, and Vancouver. One of our proudest moments was being commissioned to create a Bog Oak lamp for Áras an Uachtaráin, a gift for President Michael D. Higgins.
Wild Atlantic Timbercraft is more than a craft studio — it’s a celebration of heritage, sustainability, and the timeless beauty of nature. When you choose one of our pieces, you’re not just adding to your home; you’re carrying forward a story that began thousands of years ago.
